Dominican Republic BASC chapter was incorporated with limited liability under the local laws, endorsed and certified by World BASC Organization (WBO) on October 2003, with the support of more than 52 members and associates. This has served as a basis for the development and promotion of security culture in supply chain and international trade for more than a decade in the country, throughout its ongoing training program, international certification and specialized congresses and conferences with the highest standards in the sector.
X BASC Dominicana 2016 Congress
BASC Dominicana chapter celebrated its tenth annual congress entitled Risk Management : The Key for Internacional Trade on November 2nd 2016 at the Garden Tent of the Hotel Embajador, in the city of Santo Domingo.
Mr. Erick Alma, president of the chapter, explained that the purpose was to sensitize the business community about the importance of risks management and its impact as common factor for the competitiveness in the international trade, fostering the public-private alliances between the representatives and all the participants of the supply chain when talking about global standards. This event was attended by more than 300 persons.
9º. BASC Dominicana 2015 Congress
“Security as added value” was the subject of the 9º. Annual Congress of Basc Dominicana, which gathered the supply chain actors of international trade, such as exporters and importers, transporters, customs agents, logistic operators, airlines and vessel, representatives of the most important maritime ports of the area and of private security companies.
The conclave took place this Thursday 8 October 2015 at the Garden Tent of the Hotel Embajador, it was initiated by the words of the United States Ambassador, James W. Brewster, as guest of honour of the congress. “Every year this event represents the effort of integration public-private sector, where national and international experts share their experiences and know how for the challenges of international trade. Furthermore, it forms a part of the Basc Dominicana activities to make the companies improve their way of facing trade challenges and other issues related to security” stated Mr. Erik Alma, the president of Basc Dominicanain his welcoming remarks.
